  1. Drive your vehicle through a RAPIDPASS system at least 120 days before your vehicle registration expires to ensure the timeliest qualification and notice delivery.
    1. RAPIDPASS systems can be found at various on-road Locations.
    2. You will see the RAPIDPASS system on the road-side.
  2. Drive through more than once to increase your chance of being qualified.
  3. If you have qualified, a RAPIDPASS qualification notice will be mailed within 120 days of your vehicle registration renewal due date.
  4. You can check your vehicle's qualification status on this website by clicking [Am I Clean?].
  5. If you have not yet qualified, you may qualify by driving through a RAPIDPASS system at least two weeks before your registration is due. It takes about one week to update the website with your latest drive-through emissions test result.
    1. Driving through a RAPIDPASS location less than two weeks before your registration is due may not provide adequate time for qualification notice delivery before your registration due date.
  6. RAPIDPASS locations are posted a week in advance.

  1. RAPIDPASS qualification notices confirm your vehicle has qualified for RAPIDPASS and instruct you on how to complete your Air Check Virginia emissions inspection through the RAPIDPASS program.
  2. RAPIDPASS qualification notices are mailed within 120 days of vehicle registration renewal due dates for those already qualified.

    3. Allow 72 hours to process qualifying RAPIDPASS emissions tests before checking your status online at [Am I Clean?].

  2. Visit RAPIDPASS.org, click [Am I Clean?] and follow the steps indicated.
  3. Vehicles meeting qualification requirements receive RAPIDPASS qualification notices within 120 days of their vehicle's registration renewal due date.

  1. If you have a RAPIDPASS qualification notice from the RAPIDPASS Virginia Program, visit www.RAPIDPASS.org and click [I'm Clean!] while within 120 days of your vehicle's registration renewal due date to be taken step by step through the simple process.
  2. If you only have a registration renewal notice from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, click [Am I Clean?] to check if your vehicle has qualified for RAPIDPASS.
  3. If you don't have a registration renewal notice from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, first visit the DMV registration page to determine if and when your vehicle is eligible for emissions testing and registration renewal.
